Welcome Cherry Lane!
We bought a new horse over the summer! Cherry Lane is a Gypsy Vanner cross, and was purchased from Washington State.
Our instructors Liz and Kyrie spent a long time looking for a new addition to the herd: we needed a horse that was tall and wide enough to carry some of our taller riders. As we all know, it takes very special horses to be successful in our program. They have to be calm, gentle and patient.
Luckily, Cherry Lane was not only the right size, but also the perfect temperament! Cherry quickly adjusted to life at VTRA, and especially loves to look at herself in the mirror in the indoor. Probably because she knows she is so beautiful! Gypsy Vanners are known for their long, flowing manes, tails and feathering on the lower legs. Cherry is a grey, but has faded piebalding (black spots), which is another characteristic of a Gypsy Vanner. Cherry is currently in training under the watchful eye of the instructors. She has excelled in her first weeks of classes, and we are all excited to see how she progresses with her new students.
