VTRA Volunteer Coordinator for the 2018 Raffle

Job description:

The VTRA Annual raffle is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and the success of this event is tremendously important for our programs. This year, the prizes are a 2-night stay in a one-bedroom suite at Ucluth Lodge in Ucluelet, an IPad, or $500 cash. The draw will take place on June 15th, 2018, at the VTRA and the first person drawn will get to choose their prize among those 3, the second will choose among the 2 prizes left and finally the prize will be awarded to the last name pulled out of the box.

In order to sell as many tickets as possible, we ask families, volunteers and board members to distribute and sell them through their community networks. To ensure that the raffle is a success requires a Volunteer Raffle Coordinator to manage the following logistics:
– Contact businesses so volunteers can sell tickets at the store’s entrance on weekends
– Set up tables, chairs and VTRA marketing materials at each weekend raffle sale
– Recruit and manage volunteers selling raffle booklets
– Track the number of raffle booklets that are distributed
– Communicate with VTRA’s fundraising committee how many tickets are being sold and any other updates

Your qualifications:
– 2-3 years of experience coordinating events
– 3+ years coordinating and managing volunteers
– Reliable
– Excellent communicator
– Highly efficient using Excel, Word and email
– A love for horses and/or therapeutic riding a bonus

Position requires about 10-15 hours a week from March to June 2018.
